The Nepal Army said on Monday that no one had been rescued alive from the site of a plane crash that occurred on Sunday in the central resort city of Pokhara.

“No one alive has been rescued from the crash site,” said Nepal Army Spokesperson Krishna Prasad Bhandari.

Following Sunday’s aircraft crash in Pokhara, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal convened an emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers.

A twin-engine turboprop ATR 72 plane crashed en route from Kathmandu to Pokhara in Nepal. The Nepalese government has formed a special commission to investigate the crash’s causes. A report is due in 45 days.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and prayed for the families of the Nepal plane crash victims.

Nepal’s Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement earlier on Sunday that the flight carried 68 passengers, including five Indians, four Russians, and one Irish national.
