Bangladesh is currently facing severe social and political changes as of now. Sheikh Hasina, the Prime Minister of Bangladesh has resigned. She has fled to India after a few weeks of protests which are causing bloodshed everywhere.
The protests are against the Prime Minister’s government, since they are accused of corruption, electoral fraud and human rights abuses.It all began with the student groups calling for the removal of a controversial quota system for government jobs.
The chaos has led to hundreds of lives including violent clashes between security forces and demonstrators.Meanwhile, the military has stepped up, planning to install an interim government in response to the rising violence.
This shift caused street celebrations in Dhaka and other cities, in addition to the fears about the country’s future government. The military’s role and transition to a civilian-led interim government are unreliable,with student leaders and Human Rights campaigners demanding involvement and a voice in the future administration.
In the aftermath of the ongoing violence, the violent mobs have been attacking the hindu homes and temples, posing a great threat to the Hindu minority in Bangladesh. Sources suspect that the reason for Hindus getting attacked are because they supported Hasina’s Awami League; a secular party that strongly ties with India.
In another incident, renowned folk artist Rahul Ananda’s house was set in flames, in Dhaka.

Moreover, the protestors also looted Sheikh Hasina’s official mansion in Ganabhaban, stealing her personal belongings and damaging the premises.
