Women IPL premier league is the cricket league for women in India. earlier this year BCCI decided to start the WPL to promote worm women’s cricket in India and nurture the talent across the whole country.

With 5 teams based out of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, UP and Gujarat BCCI start the inaugural session of WPL 2023. 1st match which is held between Mumbai and gujarat to be held today in Mumbai.

Why there is a need for women IPL?

Indian Women, on the other hand, take part in a few domestic T20 competitions, but they glaringly lack a major event like the Indian Premier League (IPL) or Big Bash. In the past few years, there has been a significant increase in the number of female cricketers who have voiced their support for a Women’s IPL.

The Indian team’s chances will ultimately improve as a result of the IPL for Women, which will also benefit present cricketers and assist in the identification of fresh talent. They will also benefit from interacting with some of the top international cricketers and participating in intense matches as they learn how to handle the pressure of big-match pressure more deftly. Of course, the increased financial incentives will encourage more women to participate in the sport and give the current participants much-needed financial security. Perhaps most significantly, it will vastly improve the stature and calibre of Indian cricket.
