World Boxing Championships Mary Kom wins record sixth gold

MC Mary Com won a notable sixth Gold in the world championship on Saturday, she mother-of-three doing, without smash a sweat, what no women boxer has done before.

Moments after Mary Kom became the most triumphant boxer in the history of women world championship by beating Ukraine’s Hanna Okhota in a unanimous 5-0 pronouncement in the 48kg category peak bout, young Sonia Chahal settled for a silver medal after misly her final.


The Olympic bronze medalist came into the all-important bout which coincided with her 36th birthday, optimistic of adding her five world championship titles lacking an iota of doubt.


She stroll the talk against Okhota in front of packed KD jhadav stadium.


The bellicose Manipuri now has an incredible six gold and ones silver in the showpiece, the last yellow metal coming in 2010 Bridgetown.


Before this World Championships, Mary Kom was tied with Ireland’s Kattie Taylor gold and bronze on the number of medals won by the women.


With this, ‘Magnificent Mary’ also matched Cuban legend Felix Savon as the joint most pugilist men and women in the championship history.


Overwhelmed, Mary Kom broke down after coming out of the ring and she was around the great and packed crowed and the assembled official, warped in the tree color, she thanked to her fans to their support.
