India was playing the bronze medal match against Great Britain where they were holding a tight position till third quarter with 3-2 but with the coming last quarter the score went equal with 3-3. Last quarter was the toughest from the point of view of India as India wasn’t able to make it to the podium of Tokyo Olympics 2020.
This was the first time when the Women’s hockey team was into the semi finals but lost and was planning for a bronze medal but didn’t finish well.
Sachin Tendulkar tweeted on twitter:
“Well done #TeamIndia on giving your best and fighting till the very end.
You may have lost the match but you have won our hearts. We are all very proud of you.“
