There was a decent crowd turnout for the match despite several people unable to plan their outing due to confusion on ticket sales. Sunil Chhetri attributed the Indian performance to the crowd support. Chhetri Said, “special mention to the whole crowd, it was amazing. This is a great day in terms of the way they support us.”
We might’ve lost the match but credits to 19k that turned up for cheering the #Indianfootball team #INDvOMA pic.twitter.com/w9KJ9cKJOr

Popularity of Football in India is increasing day by day not only on ground but also on the social media as evident by this tweet by Baljit Rihal, who is one of the few Indian FA Licensed Football Agents (specializing in Indian Super League)

The audience is also maturing and this could be the result of extensive telecast of the BPL, LaLiga and Champions league, where the audience get exposed to the spirit of the game when they see great players like Messi, Buffon, Pirlo, Ronaldo playing for a win but accepting defeats with grace.
Earlier, one result like this would see a million insults at the team. People are genuinely standing by now and trying to support #INDvOMA
