“We Are Indians First,” Singer Adnan Sami Slams Jagan Reddy’s comment on RRR win.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister tweeted, “The Telugu flag is flying high” after Naatu Naatu won the Golden Globes Award 2023. Following that, Adnan Sami called him out, saying, ‘We are Indians first.’

At the 2023 Golden Globes, director SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘RRR’ won Best Original Song for its song ‘Naatu Naatu’ on Wednesday, January 11. As the nation celebrated the spectacular victory, singer-composer Adnan Sami chastised Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for promoting regionalism by congratulating the ‘RRR’ team with his ‘Telugu flag’ remark.

His reaction to the tweet divided social media; while some praised him, many Telugu users questioned the singer’s intent and asked him not to politicize everything. “What prompted you to consider it a separatist attitude?
