Sandesh Jhingan was the reason why India held Iran 1-0 in the first half and it was only a 10 minute window in the beginning of the first half, when India, due to their inexperience at the Topmost level, conceded 2 goals to loose the match 3-0. The Indian defense showed courage that has never been seen before by any Indian team. Sandesh Jhingan was the star defender and definitely the Loosing team’s Man of the Match.

Huge respect to #SandeshJhingan best Player from losing side.
#GurpreetSinghSandhu was also at his best.

I have not seen the game yet so can’t pass an informed opinion but a 3-0 scoreline against Iran is a very respectable scoreline #INDvIRN

Proud on our players #jhingan & #mandal who are in defence as solid as rock! World class defence in 1st half ruined in the 2nd half @SonyTV

India played Iran in the 2018 Russia World cup Asian qualifiers and it was a No match from the start. Iran are one of the top 50 nations in FIFA rankings and India is not even in the 150. Iran is the Best Asian team and hence the expectation in the International circles was for a scoreline of 6-0 in favour of Iran, Since Iran is known for their attacking play.
Geniunely hoping Iran don’t batter us today. #INDvsIRN

For a home game we were outclassed which was expected but we were outnumbered which was unexpected #INDvsIRN @Goal_India @Sportskeeda

Defence has looked lively but there is just too much quality in the Iranian attack and there defence has hardly been tested. #INDvsIRN

The performance by the Lanky defender was summarized by his diving effort when he bravely threw himself in front of the feet of a shooting Iranian Midfielder. Kudos to this Indian team, they have still to go a long way is bringing the crowds back to football.
Why is #INDvsIRN not trending? Slightly disheartening that #European football teams trend in India, but no takers for the national side.

Its a #WCQualifier and the stadium isn’t even half filled. Such is the state of world’s most popular game in India. #INDvsIRN
