PSG reach ‘verbal agreement’ over transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo

CRISTIANO RONALDO must decide if he wants to join Paris Saint-Germain after his agent agreed a deal with the Ligue 1 champions, according to reports in France.

PSG have been in search of a new club symbol with Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s likely summer departure to signal the dawn of a new era.

Paris Saint-Germain want Cristiano Ronaldo to replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the club's icon

As recently as last month there were reports that not only had Ronaldo flown to Paris for talks with the Ligue 1 club, but that there had been multiple meetings and that Ronaldo was preparing for life away from Madrid.

Le Parisien are now claiming that Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo’s agent, has reached a verbal agreement with the club for a transfer. However, this is only valid in the case of his departure from Spain, which is by no means certain.

With Real Madrid in the Champions League final , the player and his entourage are refusing to respond to any questions. Ronaldo, however, is now willing to remain in Madrid and would be happy to extend his deal by a further two years from 2018 to 2020.
