Prince’s publicist confirmed to the Associated Press that Prince, aged 57, passed away. TMZ was the first who reported the news.
Representatives for Prince have not yet responded to Mashable’s request for comment, though his publicist has released a statement:

Carver County Sherrif Jim Olson shared more details about the death in a statement, adding that they arrived at Paisley Park Studios at 9:43, where they found Prince unresponsive in an elevator.

TMZ is reporting that someone has died at Prince’s Paisley Park studio in Minnesota.

Prince was recently sick with the flu. He was on a flight a few days ago that was forced to make an emergency, landing in Moline, Illinois, so he could be rushed to the hospital, according to TMZ.
