Mumbai Mirror reported that Preity Zinta had threatened to fire Sanjay Bangar, the coach of her IPL team Kings XI Punjab after they lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by one run.
The article, titled “Angry Preity teaches Sanjay Bangar Cricket,” said that
“a furious Preity Zinta tore into Punjab Kings XI coach Sanjay Bangar after the team’s one-run loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore at Mohali in a shocking rant laden with expletives and threats of sacking.”
The journalist was also shocked that Preity had apparently said “fuck you” to the coach, which, had it happened, isn’t exactly something to be shocked about while talking about an angry person. The case against her is further made in the article, with “Preity one is not sure has ever held a bat or a ball when not posing for publicity shots. In fact, her Twitter status introduces her as — “Actor, Producer, Writer, Entrepreneur, Human Being and Cricket fan!””
Preity Zinta, however, was having none of the newspaper’s bullshit. In a Facebook post earlier today, the actor explained what really happened after the match, and called out MM on its sexist and baseless reporting. From their use of a picture to how they’d described her, she didn’t spare anything and spoke her mind about what she thinks of this kind of journalism.
