The Barcelona forward’s father confirms that Louis van Gaal made an attempt to sign his son last summer in what would have been a world-record deal.
Louis van Gaal made no secret of his search for a creative star in the summer and the Old Trafford club has no fear with plashing out for top players. Manchester United made a £145.6m offer for Barcelona star Neymar, according to the father of the third best football player in the world.
Neymar Snr made reference to the offer during a court case this week but left the club unnamed until now. He was in court as part of a case brought by Brazilian third-party investment fund DIS against himself, Neymar, Santos and Barcelona over the exact fee paid for his son’s services in 2013.
He told radio COPE: “Manchester United is the side that offered €190 million for Neymar. He has still two years left on his contract but you all [the media] can be calm as my son is so happy here.”
Fans are really wondering if Neymar is going to leave Barcelona or continue his incredible partnership with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
#Neymar will be leaving from #Barcelona at the end of the season %100. If anybody disagrees, I’m ready to bet.

I can see #Neymar leaving Barça. No way they can afford to keep him, Suarez and Messi long term. Not if they want players like Pogba.

I personally see #Neymar joining #mcfc if he’s leaving #Barcelona for whatever reason didn’t he say he’d like to work with Pep G?
