Tanushree Dutta, the beautiful and gorgeous actress who was seen in many hit movies like Aashiq Banaya Apne, Chocolate, Good Boy Bad Boy and Raqeeb has accused Nana Patekar for harrassing her. The actress is known for the bold script choices of her career. One can’t call her a conventional actress, she helped bringing cinema to a whole new level.
Tanushree Dutta has said in many interviews that Nana Patekar harrassed her sexually on a movie set. She has said in front of the media in an interview that Nana had harrassed her to such a point where she had to leave the set urgently and go, she had to leave the movie incomplete too. The movie which was being shooted was Horn Ok PLeasee and along with Nana Patekar, there was Amit Siddiqui and Ganesh Acharya who were also partners in Nana’s ill deeds, they together misbehaved with the actress and made her feel uncomfortable, Nana was aggressive and pushing her here and there while shooting, Ganesh Acharya was forcing her to perform an intimate scene with Nana Patekar which was earlier not there in the movie and the actress’s contract.
When asked that why did she choose to remain silent for so long, she said that she had tried to bring it out in public, what had happened with her but because of the pressure of the leaders of some political parties of Maharashtra, she couldn’t do so. The accused celebrities were well connected with those leaders.
Tanushree Dutta said that everyone knows that the history and background of Nana Patekar in Bollywood is not very good when it comes to women, he has been earlier also held responsible for molesting women, beating them and being crude to them.
The veteran actor Nana Patekar refused to the allegations of the actress, he said that there were many people present on the set and it is impossible for someone to harrass someone in front of so many people.
Superstars like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachhan, Amir Khan haven’t spoken on this till now. Being the senior members, ain’t it their responsibility to check that no one gets ill treated in the bollywood fraternity.
Salman refused to speak about the topic by saying that he is unaware of the topic and Amitabh Bacchan gave an angry response.
Looks like the bollywood celebrities are trying to dodge the situation, instead of showing support for the harrassed women, they are showing anger on the media for asking them uncomfortable questions.
Twinkle Khanna supported Tanushree Dutta, but Dutta doubts her support saying that her husband Akshay Kumar keeps on working with Nana Patekar despite of knowing his behavioral background for women.
Tanushree Dutta also said that superstars like Rajnikant are working with Nana Patekar, what chance does women like her have to survive with dignity in Bollywood.
Here are some tweets related to this context-
It’s hardly a cryptic tweet. Of course I’m referring to Tanushree Dutta and Nana Patekar. But it’s not just about this case. It is about a much larger culture of not believing women. And about condoning bad behavior by staying silent.
