While conferring the 2014 National Film Awards on Sunday, President Pranab Mukherjee urged the film industry to “look beyond markets.” The President said the Industry should work towards nurturing “universal human value that grow on our rich civilizational heritage that celebrates diversities and nurtures inclusiveness”.
Kangna recieved the award for her film #Queen as her 2nd National Award. The first was as a Supporting role in the Movie Fashion. Kangna Said in an interview “I do appreciate the fact that at the age of 28, I have won two National Awards. That means a lot to me.”

Kangna is known to have taken roles that make her stand apart and she claims she has no competition with the other ‘Girls’ in Bollywood due to this reason. At the award function she wore a Gown designed by Vibhu Mahapatra from US,
breaking the tradition of wearing a Sari.
