India is Now World Most Populous country of the world

According to data that the UN has just released, India has surpassed China as the world’s most populated nation. In comparison to China’s 142.57 crore, India has 142.86 crore people, according to UN figures. Since the UN began compiling population figures in 1950, India has never placed first on the list of most populous nations. As its workforce ages and fertility rates decrease, China is in danger of experiencing a demographic decline. Although official attempts have so far failed to reverse the decrease, certain regions have also announced measures to increase birth rates.

India has not performed a census since 2011, hence there are no fresh official statistics available on its population sizeThe once every ten years census in India was scheduled to take place in 2021 but was postponed because of the coronavirus outbreak. According to UN statistics, over one-fourth of India’s population is under the age of 14. 7 percent of the population is above the age of 65, while 68% of people are between the ages of 15 and 64.

According to estimates from several organizations, India’s population would continue to grow for about three decades before reaching a peak of 165 crore, at which point it will begin to decline.
