The senior scientist of the Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) has been arrested by Maharastra ATS as he allegedly found accused in case of leaking sensitive key information to a Pakistani woman (Pakistani Based cooperation) through WhatsApp chat and video call.
Anti-Terrorism Squad said, ‘It is allegedly a case of honeytrap. An investigation is to be done to make clear whether it was being done for Financial gains or something else’
The devices(mobile phone, laptop and desktop) which were used by the accused have been taken by the Investigation Bureau for forensic research.
The ATS also informed the court that Kurulkar is known to have visited several foreign countries. It needs to be investigated whether he allegedly held meetings with Pakistani operatives in another country and how.
The 59 years old scientist, Pradeep Kuralkar was in a senior position in DRDO and has been engaged in many strategically significant projects of defense including Mission Shakti, A Nuclear capable Agni Missile series. The critical subsystem of this mission was the design and development of a ballistic missile launcher from concept to deployable prototype. The launcher was developed in a very short time of three months under the able guidance and leadership of PM Kurulkar. He was posted in one of the defense facilities in Pune.
The complaint was filed by a top officer of the Vigilance and Security Department of DRDO and then ATS filed an FIR for the same in Kalachowki Police Station in m
