On Thursday night, Shah Rukh Khan appeared at the Kolkata International Film Festival 2022 (KIFF). The actor discussed the hostility on social media during his remarks at the festival’s opening. The statement came at an intriguing time because there are already calls on Twitter to boycott Shah Rukh’s upcoming movie Pathaan. He addressed the “narrowness of view” on social media without mentioning Pathaan and even pushed back against individuals who had a pessimistic outlook.
He stated, “The world has returned to normal. I am the happiest out of all of us. And I have no problem declaring that “me, you all, and all the positive people are alive” (Duniya kuch bhi kar le, main aur aap log aur jitney bhi positive log hain sab ki sab, zinda hain). The enormous crowd assembled there cheered when he said his final “Zinda Hain” in the manner of his Pathaan character.
After its debut single, Besharam Rang was made public two days ago, criticism ensued. The song and costumes were criticized by Madhya Pradesh minister Narottam Mishra, who claimed that until they were adjusted, the movie might not be shown in the state. Since then, Twitter’s popular topics have included the hashtag #BoycottPathaan.
Even after netizens boycotted the films, still, his fans are excited to watch what he is going to present through this movie:
Meanwhile, People are also creating memes out of Besharam Rang’s music video:
People are more outraged and the boycotting movement has grown since SRK made the ambiguous statement about not supporting his film.
