The Telangana BJP president and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar has been detained in relation to the allegedly leaked SSC Hindi test question paper. Prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s journey to the state, he had been taken into custody from his Karimnagar home just hours earlier.
His party members have reacted angrily to the action. Minutes into the April 4 test in Warangal, it was reported that the SSC (Secondary School Certificate) question paper for the Hindi exam had leaked. A different subject’s SSC exam questions reportedly leaked on April 3rd as well.
Police claim that after the test had already started, the Hindi paper was leaked and images of it were shared on social media by BJP supporter and former writer Booram Prashanth. Police have detained Bandi Sanjay because the main suspect in the case has ties to the BJP.
On Bandi Sanjay’s arrest, police officials have not yet made a formal statement. He was however brought for a medical examination and will now appear in court in Warangal today.
The BJP leader had previously been taken by police for a medical checkup at a neighbourhood hospital in Palakurthi. Tuesday’s Class 10 Hindi test started at 9.30 am, and by 10 am, images of the exam questions were being shared on WhatsApp groups.
