In a recent speech in the Lok Sabha, HRD Minister Smriti Irani brought up an school textbook about Indian history, saying it promoted an anti-national mindset amongst students. The book contained content dealing with Shivaji and the Mughals, and was allegedly discontinued over a decade ago. While she was asking for school syllabi to be revised so that there are no anti-national elements in them, someone took her message too seriously and started the hashtag #RemoveMughalsFromBooks on Twitter.
And, of course, Twitter had some of the most hilarious responses.
Step 1) #RemoveMughalsFromBooks
