This Friday, a posthumous song featuring Liam Payne will finally be released. Sam Pounds, Payne’s friend and fellow musician, confirmed on Monday that their duet, “Do No Wrong,” will drop on November 1.
On the social media site X, Pounds expressed his hopes for the song’s impact. He began with, “I pray this will bless the world as Liam always envisioned.” Then, he continued, “I hope angels offer you comfort each day as you listen.” Additionally, he shared, “I pray that this song brings peace to Ruth, Bear, and the entire family.”
Focusing on positivity, Pounds shared his vision: “May this song overcome negative echoes.” Moreover, he wished for “supernatural healing” to surround listeners, leaving fans with an inspiring message ahead of the release. Pounds then encouraged fans to pre-save the single, concluding with, “With love, let’s all be the blessing.”
Last week, Pounds posted a studio video of himself and Payne listening to the song together. Payne’s sister, Ruth Gibbons, filmed the clip. In the video, the two musicians share their hope that Chris Brown might collaborate on the track. In response to ongoing speculation about Payne, Pounds wrote, “Yeah, I see the reports, but I know your heart.” He described the song as “a musical moment and tribute to [Liam].”
Following Payne’s passing, Pounds posted several studio videos of their time together. He highlighted their strong bond, writing, “We made incredible music together that will live on forever.” Reflecting on their friendship, he shared, “This is how I’ll remember you, brother—the happy, funny, talented friend, father, and brother.”
This tribute arrives a few weeks after Payne’s death was confirmed. Authorities reported that Payne, a former member of One Direction, died from multiple injuries following a fall at a Buenos Aires hotel.
Payne’s solo album LP1 came out in 2019. In March 2024, he released “Teardrops,” hinting at new music and suggesting that more projects were on the horizon.
