Lakshya Sen Aspires to become The Virat Kohli Of Indian Badminton

Lakshya Sen, the brilliant badminton player from India, won hearts with his performance at the Paris Olympics 2024 but he failed to secure the bronze medal by the closest of margins.

Lakshya made history by being the first Indian male athlete to get to the badminton semifinals at the Olympics. Nevertheless, his dream of competing for the gold medal collapsed when he lost to the top-seeded Viktor Axelsen. Then he competed for the bronze medal; that match Lakshya went against Lee Zi Jia but once again he was defeated.

His brilliant performance was highly praised by everyone. Recently in an interview with Ranveer Allahbadia the 23 year old shared his ambition to become the “Virat Kohli of Indian badminton in coming years” despite being unable to add an Olympic gold to his resume

During the interview, the 23 year old player was asked about how in the memes people are comparing him to Virat Kohli to which he replied, “Why not I mean but again he has done a lot for Indian cricket. Yes, I want to be the Virat Kohli of Indian badminton in coming years,” he said on the Ranveer Show podcast
