On October 12; day two of Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI 2024, Olympic medalist shooter Manu Bhaker had an incredible runway debut.
Bhaker, who won two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics earlier this year, showcased her talent on the runway. She walked for the apparel brand Marks and Spencer. The brand launched its Autumn Winter ’24 collection on Friday.
Titled “Big Autumn Energy,” the collection aims to elevate fashion lovers’ wardrobes. It blends timeless elegance with contemporary styles for the season.
Bhaker’s stylish monochrome faux leather ensemble perfectly captured the essence of the collection. She paired her black high-waisted A-line midi skirt with a matching sleeveless top. The top had a round neckline. This added a simple yet elegant touch. It also featured a button fastening at the back for a sleek finish.
Bhaker said on how she felt about the experience, “I was nervous, but I gave myself a pep talk to stay calm and just walk. It was surreal, and I’m really happy to have walked the ramp for the first time in my life for Marks and Spencer,” she told the reporters.
The Haryana-born athlete, 22, said the ensemble complemented her personal style by seamlessly fusing comfort and style.
Bhaker highlighted her fondness for comfy clothing in her daily wardrobe, stating, “In day-to-day life, I make sure I’m wearing very comfortable clothes that allow me to move throughout the day. I don’t feel restricted by my clothes. So, firstly it’s comfort, and then it’s stylish yet chic. Of course, I have to feel confident in myself in what I wear.”
In partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), the 2024 Lakme Fashion Week will run until Sunday. The event will showcase a range of avant-garde designs. Furthermore, it will celebrate the evolution of Indian fashion, marking its continued growth. Bhaker’s involvement highlights the variety of skills in the industry and represents a key junction between fashion and sports.
To sum up, Manu Bhaker’s stunning walk debut during Lakme Fashion Week wowed viewers and proved her versatility outside of athletics. She has received a lot of attention for her self-assured walk and carefree attitude, which showcase her versatility in both fashion and shooting.
