Ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Arrest Created Clash and Protest in Pakistan

The arrest of Imran Khan ended up with clashes between police and PTI supporters. 6 deaths have been reported lately and more than 100 are injured. 

Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan was on Tuesday arrested by paramilitary Rangers from outside the Islamabad High Court. He and his wife have been found accused in a case of corruption, taking billions from a builder.

The internet service was shut down on Tuesday but now it has been continued.

PTI workers protested in cities across the country, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, and Mardan. The PTI supporters living outside Pakistan are also protesting in front of the Pakistan embassy.

The United States, the United Kingdom and Canada have released travel advisories to staff of the embassy of Pakistan to come back to their home country.

The US Embassy has warned its citizens living in Pakistan to be extra cautious and stay away from areas with significant gatherings.

There was a hearing in court of Imran Khan today, But he will not be appearing in court and the hearing will take place at the place where he is in custody. This decision is taken after observing the security issues.
